Elder Options, Inc. Earns SAGE Platinum Certification

In conjunction with SAGE Elder Options has earned the platinum level award for training all Care Managers and care management staff on serving LGBT older adults. SAGE is the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults. SAGE is a national organization that offers supportive services and consumer resource to LGBT older people and their caregivers.

A division of SAGE — SAGECare provides LGBT competency training and consulting on LGBT aging issues to organizations throughout the United States. SAGECare partners with service providers to prepare a compassionate, LGBT-competent staff to address the needs of a rapidly expanding aging population.

By 2030 the LGBT population is expected to double to from an estimated 4 million today to 8 million that identify as LGBT. Recognizing that all older adults would prefer to “age in place” even as health issues and increasing age occur. Elder Options’ a respected local organization is pleased to garner this certification award in time for PRIDE month. Celebrating 32 years in the community and locally owned and operated, Elder Options looks forward to working with LGBT older people as they make decisions about remaining independent in the community.
